Zoe & Trevor's wedding at Dalhousie Castle

23rd June 2016
The first of this weekend's two wedding saw a return to Dalhousie Castle with Zoe & Trevor. It was a damp day - all day, but Dalhousie is just as amazing inside as it is out, so beautiful photographs were never in doubt (of course!).

After unloading the gear I was going to need for the day ahead, I popped up to see the girls and catch up with what was all going on that day. Everyone was calm and relaxed, having make up done by Michelle (who's wedding we did back in May '14 - Hi Michelle !).
I drafted a plan for doing family photos inside, commandeering one of the outer rooms before then just letting the day happen and snapping away.

Eventually the guys arrived, and this gave me an opportunity to get away from the heat of the girls room and into the cooler parts of the castle with Trevor for a few photos.

Before we knew it though, it was game time, and piper Andrew marched in to announce to the ladies it was time to go to the wedding.
The ceremony was very sweet - and like every other part of the day - Zoe & Trevor just fell into it - with full on happiness it's always a joy to get a couple that will let nothing bother them on their day - they are just going to enjoy it regardless.
Not that I'm saying anything went wrong - it didn't... everything was really perfect... except Zoe mentioned how she wished she could have got at least one photo outside in front of the castle.

Not to be outdone, I grabbed our brollies, checked the weather (only spitting now) and laid down a sheet for the dress to go on.
Back inside we'd even captured a visit of an eagle and a smart wee owl, and we also took advantage of the really sumptuous rooms to sit our lovely couple in for some very Royal looking portraits. Zoe & Trev looked the part as Lord & Lady of Dalhousie :)
For all this couple kept telling me during the pre-shoot that they hated being photographed, some of the pics we pulled out of them are amazing.
I'm really happy that they picked me for their day - it was a real hoot being around such a happy day.

So here's to Zoe & Trevor... Mr & Mrs Heaslip Congratulations ! xx

This wedding was shot on two Fuji X-Pro2's with a 23mm & 56mm.
I switched to the 16-55XF to save swapping cameras up and down for the group shots and for the bride & grooms for when we went outside - as it's weather resistant.
