Tracy & Graeme's wedding in Edinburgh

31st December 2014
A wedding in Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Gardens... lots of lovely scenery... but it's December - it's at max 2' !

Ach, love overcomes cold and all that :)

Yes, never shoot wedding photography in Edinburgh's Royal Botanics, a few shoots yes, but never a wedding. I met up with the girls first in Loanhead, an hour and a bit there before getting my taxi (wife driving our car) to bolt us into town so we could Paras style, attack The Botanics with all our gear, lights, cameras bags etc.
Daughter Annie got to carry all the heavy stuff - good girl ! We got dropped off at the gates "GO GO GO !!" :)

(One day the Vespa will be brought along to a short day Edinburgh wedding - it makes perfect sense!)

It was a very peaceful ceremony, all relaxed, quiet and the drips of rain that threatened early on went away, leaving just the December chill to deal with.

A cold day like this, with no warm cozy hotel rooms creates it's own challenges when the bride & room still want group shots. Not a problem though, as we did them is small batches, finishing off the smaller groups in the reception hall where dinner would be served later.

Once the lovely Tracy & Graeme were suitably warmed up again, we made our way outside for a quick section of bride & groomy pictures, roughly following a track we'd did on the pre-wedding shoot way back on the 2nd of October.

There are some lovely views and scenes that any photographer with a bonny couple would love, but with time & the cold against us, we shot around as quick as we could before whisking the newly weds back in to the warmth of their families & friends (and the heating).

A great day out once more - a privilege to be there.

Here's a sample of the photos, the slideshow, and the full portfolio is in the Gallery section now. You can get the password from Tracy & Graeme.
