Suzy & Colin's wedding at Archerfield

10th January 2015
And here we are in 2015 season already.
Time seriously flies by quick being a wedding photographer, with an occasion to look forward to almost every weekend, before you know it - a whole year has passed.

No sooner was I uploading the last wedding of 2014, was I at Archerfield in East Lothian to shoot the wedding photography for the lovely Suzy & Colin.

While temperatures were standard for early January (freezing) the sun was shining, and the grounds & inside the house were as fabulous as ever.

With daughter (trainee, go-for - and most importantly assistant photographer) Annie, with me. We arrived early morning to set up camp do some outside detail shots and prepare for the day.
We caught up with Suzy & Colin at their different ends of the house - avoiding each other as best they could as we moved on towards the wedding itself in the early afternoon.

This was a real laid back wedding. It was a humanist ceremony, and it was taking place in one of the large lounges in the house. All the guests were invited in to get a comfy chair, or just stand relaxed at the side as celebrant Louise Young went through the formalities.
The happy couple then went straight into some informal speeches before we did some group photos , and a quick outside session with Suzy & Colin.
A good gauge for outside winter weddings is goose bumps on the brides arms :)

But with the house being so luxurious and warm, we weren't stuck for inside locations to do all the other group shots that the guests were asking for. It was quite fun for about half an hour as a queue of couples & groups of friends gathered to be snapped either on their own, or with the new Mr & Mrs Taylor.

So 2015 got off to a great and relaxed way. Here's a sample of the photos just now, and the slideshow above.

The full portfolio is in the Gallery section now, and once Suzy & Colin have logged on to view them, they'll be able to share the password with you.
