Rebecca & Steven pws at Belhaven Beach

21st September 2014
Damn Belhaven Beach and it's large coverage.
I'd arranged to meet up with Rebecca & Steven for a walk along John Muir/Belhaven Beach on Thursday for their pre-wedding shoot & catch up in the afternoon.

It was a very interesting & foggy day, so I arrived at the car park with the gear I had selected to use and a plan in mind.
1pm passed and I thought to myself - "hope they're not late on their wedding day". Then I got a text. "We're at The Bridge waiting for you." Wooops.
I'm at the wrong bit :)

So -- we meet up after I scuttle along the road and you can tell instantly that they are both excited but very nervous.
I explain that this is why we do the pre-shoots, to catch up, get to know each other better (well know me better - they should be well acquainted with each other ha ha), and it's as much a chat as it is a photo shoot.

By the time we've walked 5 minutes along the beach we were in good high spirits and getting on great.

I explained as best I could, that every couple stand differently, and I like to see how couples react together.
Rebecca & Steven were very easy to work with and understood what I was trying to get across.

One of the things I do at weddings as well as at the pre-shoots, is pose a couple, get feet, legs, hips, arms, hands & heads roughly how I want the picture to look, and then just ask them to look at each other smile, chat do what they want. Some couples take to the idea right away, they'll laugh at each other, smile, sometimes kiss, and it's those moments that make a photo, not the actual pose, but the real moments of a couple being a couple.

Rebecca & Steven are good like this, and I'm really looking forward to their big day in December.
