Photo a day - Week 11

18th March 2013
The predominant (and recurring) theme for this week is waiting, waiting on Spring. It feels like this winter is going to last forever.
Still, amongst the cold and blustery days, I managed to unpocket the Fuji X100 and grab as many pics as I could wherever I was...

A bit of a bland picture, but it's a personal one. On Tuesday I had a wee cycle out to the sight where Deer Park Social Club used to be (Portlands Club). It's where me 'n Ali's wedding reception was, a mobbed party of around 250 folk. It was one of the last big do's to be held there before it was knocked down.
Even before that as a young lad, going to discos there.... ahhhh...
It's part of the grounds now that may well be becoming a big golf club complex for Dunbar GC.

(edit - now that I think about it, I didn't cycle , I took the car).

Popped into Eclipse Motorcycles on Wednesday to order my new wheels for this year. Well some of them :) Not this lovely thing. The Jet was about the same price as the very expensive scootae I ordered mind.

Spent two afternoons this week photographing scenes that had been photographed before, many years ago. A kind of before and now. The video link is on a previous blog, worth taking a wee look.

These two fine fellas sit wasting away behind an old church. Not guarding anything worthwhile. I photographed them on b&w film a few months ago , but haven't digitised them onto the 'puter yet.

Yip - even the flowers are fed up waiting for Spring to arrive, and the hardiest of them have opened up around town.

Meanwhile, up at Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh , M&D's amusements are setting up shop for the Easter holidays, but at the moment, the big wheel reflects coldly into the wet ground below.

Back home, one of our cats, Bubba (Bubz to you and me) waits patiently for a break in the weather to get out and play. She's not quite mastered murdering wildlife yet, but by jingo she can fair catch loose leaves.
