Natasha & Jonny's wedding at Dunglass Estate

12th July 2016
I'm no stranger in telling you all about all the weird & wonderful things that happen on our travels as wedding photographers, how our bookings take us to the same venues at the same time of year and in batches... like this week in July, we always do Dalmahoy in Edinburgh, well this month as well we have two Wednesday weddings, and both are at Dunglass.
I need to have my own TV show, I bet that's what your thinking eh... ?
Maybe not :)

Anyway, yes, we were back at Dunglass, one of our special, most enjoyable wedding venues, we always have amazing weddings here. Stunning location, great attentive staff that make sure the day flows, great facilities, and today - again, we have a very good looking couple that we know were going to photograph well.

I welcomed Annie back to the team after a few weeks of end of school and end of college shenanigans and we soon got back into our rhythm.

With Natasha and her girls in the big house (one day the lads will refuse to be sent to one of the cottages and demand the big house... maybe ?) and Jonny and the groomsmen as I just kind of mentioned - in one of the cottages.

Today's prep seemed to go very fast and efficiently, with bags of time to spare, Natasha was in her dress looking amazing, and Jonny & the lads weren't too far behind in getting their suits on.
This meant we had loads of time for nice shots of our bride without the sometimes rushed "stand here, look there, sit here....wonderful, ok see you at the church... bye!".
All very relaxed.

The guys had the usual "where does the flower go" moments, but all went very well. Mums were soon on site fixing any dressing errors and we were flowing nicely into a lovely humanist ceremony.

Celebrant Ian, led everyone into a very loving story of Natasha & Jonny's relationship followed by readings and sound words of wisdom from both mums. All very sweet and just the right amount of tears from those that were ready to go.
We then led our happy couple through their guests lined up with confetti, but the slight wind saved them from a pelting of coloured paper that can happen. A quick 360' photo of all the guests (see below) then we let everyone chill for 15 minutes, photographing from afar, or casually up close without bothering anyone.

Some slight rain started to breeze over, so we got everyone into the marquee and let the easy afternoon continue, finishing what photos we needed inside.
Once it had settled outside we took our newly weds back into the church for a few minutes of photos. We had to be as versatile as always because of the rain that was still drizzling down, so there'd be no long walks around the grounds.
We still got some great pics, Natasha looking just amazing in her slender dress in the old stonework of Dunglass Church.

Before too long we'd covered speeches (4 today, with both dads having one each) and then into the dancing. The band Calanish getting everyone up and the spirits were indeed high as everyone got involved in a great party atmosphere.
It all seemed too soon when I managed to drag N&J outside after 8:30pm for one final quick set of pictures and then leave them to party.

This was indeed another fine wedding. Thanks to Natasha & Jonny and their family & friends for having us there.
The slideshow highlights are above ^^ and the full Gallery will be live in a few days too. Those of you that pre-registered on our iPad will get an email notification when it is live and where to go.

So ... here's to Natasha & Jonny, the new Mr & Mrs Vickers ! xxx
