Natalie & Mark's wedding at Marshall Meadows

24th September 2015
I've known both Mark & Natalie for a few years, and when I was approached to shoot their wedding I was keen to do it. Because we cover such a wide geographical area, and our diary is usually filled 15 months in advance, we don't often get to do too many local weddings.
Even though the wedding for Natalie & Mark was in Berwick - technically south of the border in another country... they were local.
You know what I mean.

In saying that... out of the next 3 weddings coming up after this one, 2 are in my home town of Dunbar. That's quite an unusual bonus.

Myself and Annie got down to Berwick way in advance of any of the wedding party to scout locations and check weather and ground situations. The grass outside which normally lends itself perfectly to good shots of Marshall Meadows house was very soft and wet, so we knew we'd have to call upon our trusty "big broon sheet". An old studio canvas backdrop which always saves the wedding dress getting soaked.

So the the guys arrived first, Mark and best man Chris with Mark & Natalie's daughter Maddison, before the girls arrived after getting hair & make-up done nearby.

Dresses hung up, drinks ordered, photo count started to rise... and we were off on another fantastic wedding day journey :)
The ceremony room was set up very nicely, and before we knew it we were in there to go through a very (read that as very, very) quick wedding ceremony.

We ran through our set of family & group pics before we stole our lovely newly-weds away for a short session on their own, finishing off with a very sweet photo of them in the back lounge, the light just falling on Natalie beautifully.

We released them into their guests for 2 quick speeches then dinner before myself and assistant/daughter/accomplice Annie slipped off.

Another fine day, and a lovely set of photos. Every bride we shoot always looks beautiful, but every bride has a certain angle or look that they just get into and look amazing. We reckon we got a few of Natalie like that. With every few close ups we did there was a wow moment, and I knew "yip , that's a doozy!".

This is a fine job for someone that loves working with people & tech - we are so lucky to get so many amazing couples to work with.

But as my dad always says - "The harder you work, the luckier you get!"

So the slideshow is above ^^^ , and a few more samples below. The full portfolio is in our Gallery Section now. You'll need to get the password from Natalie & Mark to access it, but then you can view all the photos, and order copies if you like.

In the meantime... here's to the new Mr & Mrs Blain !

(were you at the wedding ? Regardless... do you like the photos, Natalie's dress ? Please leave a comment and let us all know what you think)
