Master Photographer award wins

24th June 2016
I attended the Scottish Region Master Photographers Association annual awards ceremony & dinner on Sunday night, and was delighted - super delighted even - to win 2 of the categories! Well chuffed.

I won the Open category and Reportage Wedding, with the added bonus of a Merit award in the monochrome section too.
But I can't say enough how happy I am to have won the Reportage Wedding photography award. I'm just so glad that our wedding work has had some recognition.
We genuinely put so much into our weddings, and it's great to have won an award as important as this.

I now have 2 shiny trophies in our High Street window to show off.

It was a great day out with two speakers, Jenny from 3XM did a great talk about social media promotion with some eye opening examples, then judge for the event this year - David MacDonald, top, top photographer, who showed us some of his amazing work, then a talk on business skills.

The night then started with a fabby dinner then the awards themselves. And had no idea I was going to collect two of the awards.

Great organisation , and ever so delighted to have some recognition for the work that we - my family as an important part of the workings of GWS Photography - have put into the business over the last few years.

Thank you MPA , the Scottish Region, John & Sandra Parris for the work they have done for the MPA Scotland (and to John for winning Scottish MPA Photographer of the Year), David MacDonald, the trade stand guys and gals, and of course, my wife Ali and daughter & assistant Annie.

Woops , nearly went off on an Oscars style thank you there :)

Here's to the exciting years ahead !
