Martha & Darren's wedding at Dirleton Castle

15th July 2012
There's not going to be many more weddings at Dirleton Castle in the next year or so, due to work to remedy water ingress... and the preliminary work caused a little bit of worry to Martha & Darren as they planned their wedding.
But in saying that, it all went ahead... and very lovely it was too. The minister stopped by on the way into the castle to tell me I hoped I'd enjoy myself and get some great photos... what a guy :) His service was equally fun and loving... allowing everyone to take part and sing away.

Once the service was over, we moved everyone upstairs to the "Great Hall" area to run through a few quick family group shots, before I took the newly weds away for 20 minutes on their own for some wedding day portraits.

The reception was at The Maitlandfield Hotel in Haddington, where the staff were as on the ball as usual, and once everyone was fed & watered , a great crowd of friends & family jigged the night away to the band.

This wedding was interesting for me in many ways - including the first time in 18 months or so that the bride threw the bouquet - and there was also a video company recording the event... I know these things still do go on, but been a while since I did a wedding where these things were on the go to. Great fun with the bouquet toss :)
The video company "Roger That Productions" have some decent samples on their site.

So , I'm already working away in getting Martha & Darren's photos ready, once they're back from honeymoon we'll get them in to the studio for a private viewing then put their full portfolio online for family & friends.

Quick shout out as well to the piper for the day Alex Campbell... good guy & experienced piper, you can get Alex on 01875 815699.

Here, it's like I've been taking on sponsors for this blog lol.. now there's an idea :)

Anyhoos, here's a quick preview of the wedding pics, keep checking in for the full 'folio...
