Leanne & John's wedding in Dalkeith & Melville Castle

17th June 2015
For all I'm almost always booked out every weekend, this was another wedding in 2 venues I'd never been to before.
St Nicholas Buccleuch Church in Dalkeith, and then Melville Castle... 5 minutes along the road from the church.
Very nice they both are too.
I'd popped along to the rehearsal at the church the night before to get an idea of the light & layout, and to see how the girls would set up. That always helps.

Friday - the day of the wedding - came and it was another lovely day.
I met up with Leanne early on at Melville Castle as I got set up, did a small recce and prepared for the 9-10 hours ahead. It's always a slow start to the day being a wedding photographer then bang - 100mph and second guessing (accurately) what's going to happen next, so I make sure everyone is relaxed, let the girls do their thing and let the morning unfold before I jump in the car and appear at the church to meet the guys.

Or pub as was the case this day :)
I let the guys finish their drinks and grabbed a few shots in the pub before the real official guy photos were in the bag.
The church spire clock said 1:30 and everyone was inside, waiting on Leanne & dad to arrive.

Through the ceremony, outside to be greeted with bubbles, cheers & kisses and cuddles then we sent all the guests of to Melville, where we caught up with them 20 minutes later.

There were a lot of kids to be in the formal pictures so with this and the bar being too tempting for some of the family & friends, the formal group shots went on a bit longer than usual, but we got there.
We just switched to contingency plan B and did some nice Bride & Groom pics after dinner, before Lee kicked off the dancing and the evening merriment was under way.

So for my first wedding photography at Melville Castle - another lovely day, Leanne looked amazing, and with John beside her - a gorgeous couple. Lots of fun was had by all and it was a pleasure being around the big day of the new Mr & Mrs Imrie.

So here's a sample of the pictures, the full portfolio is in our Gallery section now, you can get the password from Leanne & John to view & order copies - once they've seen them all :)
