Laura & Kern's wedding at Gullane & North Berwick

15th August 2013
Another tick for the "never shot wedding photography here" box... Gullane's lovely St Adrian's Church.
Church weddings are always nice, but (and I'll need to write carefully here...) you have to suss out the minister presiding. Sometimes they can be completely open and aware of modern demands... the other end of the scale they can be really demanding that the service and religious ceremony shouldn't be disturbed by photography at all.
I've worked with all kinds, and I always try to leave their church their friend and have them on my side, as no doubt I'll be back at some point in the future.
Some ministers & revs say they had a bad experience of a photographer in the faces of the couple during the vows etc, and I dare say there are dodgey photographers like that, but that's not my style.
St Adrian's Rev is John Lyndsey, he's been there 25 years and is a really nice guy. He probably sits right in the middle of my swinging line of easy going - overly strict. I was just advised "too much clicking and I'll throw you out". I let him hear my camera in silent "church" mode, he smiled and we both got ready.

So anyways... a bit of a diversion there :)
Laura & Kern had a lovely ceremony in the church and the nice lawn out the back allowed us a great place for all the family shots before the large attending crowd of friends & family were shipped along to The Glen GC for the reception. The Glen is most definitely in the category of "been there every few weeks this year".

So we met up at The Glen again, a few more informal photos before everyone made their way in for the wedding brekkie.

We used what ever we snippets of time to do short 10 minute photo sessions to add to the portfolio before grabbing a couple of almost sunset pictures after the 1st dances.

A great day out with another groovy bunch of wedding hipsters and revelers.

Yip - I'm in 60's mode again lol.

Here's a few of the photos just now. The full portfolio is in our Gallery section now - friends & family can get the password from Laura and/or Kern to view - hey and even order copies if you so desire :)
