Laura & Alan's wedding in Rosslyn

20th September 2014
This wedding was always going to be an emotional and thoughtful wedding.
The chosen location - The Original Hotel in Rosslyn - which going by the location survives on the passing trade of customers visiting the famous Rosslyn Chapel nearby.

As per usual , I got on site around 11am and made myself known to the girls. The first couple of hours is always just a case of sitting amongst boxes, bags and make up.
We chatted - while I grabbed a few candid snaps, but at that point of the day , it's really just about all the girls there getting used to me.
As it came nearer ceremony time, the guys arrived giving me just enough time to grab Alan and his best man (brother Steven) for a few shots outside, before spending the last few minutes with Laura & the girls as they prepared for the wedding.
A nervous peace came around the room as Laura & sister & chief bridesmaid Jennifer thought about their mum who is no longer with us.

Laura's dad chapped the bedroom door on time and the two had a nice hug before heading down stairs to the wedding.

All went well. No real tears, but lots of love.

We didn't have any time to go exploring the nearby park before dinner because of the schedule, but after dinner, I whisked the happy couple away in my car to the nearby country park for 15 minutes to give them some alone time and grab some married couple photos.
Best man Steven came along as photographer's assistant :)

The park was quite busy, so we headed back to the hotel , where I could set up for the first dances.

It's usual for me to say how good the staff were at a wedding venue, but a few of us were left - let's say bewildered by the hotel owner and his stiffness, but none-the-less everyone enjoyed themselves.
Graham Cairns's band had them all grooving and the wedding day soon ran out of hours - and all too soon it was all over.

So here's to the new Mr & Mrs Bell.

Some photos here to get you going, and the slideshow above. The full portfolio is in the Gallery now, and the password can be prised of Laura & Alan.
