Jo & Matt's wedding in Aberlady

18th May 2017
The last day of April... a Sunday morning and afternoon in Aberlady. I don't think I've ever shot wedding photography in Aberlady before, I always say though, every year throws up something new.

I whizzed along the coast a wee bit earlier to get a look at the Village Hall where the wedding might be taking place - with the first choice if the weather was nice being Sea Green. I bumped into Jo's dad there - who had spotted me prowling around, touching stuff on the tables as I planned some detail shots for later.
He must have thought I was some vagrant just in for a snack lol.
Anyway, I introduced myself (should have done that first I suppose) and he told me it looked like the wedding was going ahead in the hall as the wind wasn't going to let up.
It wasn't a nasty wind, but nor was it a super spring day. Best choice probs.

So with my mini-recce done, I whizzed along more of the coast to Jo's parents house to catch up with the Bride herself (well and bridesmaids).
It was the usual very casual, easy, no-nerves affair... every wedding morning starts like that, but as the clock creeps nearer dress on time, it gets more fraught :)

Before too long that time was here and I snapped away at Jo & mum & dad, before nipping back to the Village Hall to see Matt, our handsome groom.

Then on stage, like we were all in a play, even with an audience of guests looking on from the floor below... a lovely humanist ceremony say Jo & Matt become Mr & Mrs John.
From this point on it was all very casual, a few family group shots, a few photos on Sea Green, we then went garden hopping for more bride & groom photos, before I grabbed my last photos of the day as the guests all sat down to the wedding breakfast.
