IPPN Annual Awards

15th December 2014
On Friday night in Birmingham a small group of us from The IPPN (International Professional Photographer's Network) met for the annual night out and prize giving.

I'm excited to say I picked up 2 awards, one was a Highly Commended award for my "Death of a Clown" photo (featured in an earlier blog), and the other award, well. Was for being me :)

Let me explain...
I always say I try to blog and talk to people exactly as I am. So when I got to do a wedding, everyone that matters , that's met me... know how I work , they know I'm a bit fun, a bit serious when I need to be, but over all... an easy person to work with.
I like a laugh ... sure.
If I don't come back from a wedding and not enjoyed it, then that's baaaad. It's part of my job to make sure my involvement with my clients (new friends really) is enjoyable.
It can't be a chore getting lovely wedding photos taken, or you'll just remember the hassle it took to get them.

So, what I'm saying is ... well, I take part in forums, I write these blogs, and I meet clients in a way I think is true to me.
If folk think I'm being daft, (my mum wouldn't like it if I said the a**h*** word, but that's what I mean), but over 2014 I was voted "Most Entertaining Member".

Now , it IS a compliment, but I also look at it and quietly think... "I've never won an award for being an idiot before."

Thank you IPPN. I look forward to keeping up my good work :)

Photo comment By Nancy Murphy: Grahame - this is the best award you could ever win. You won an award for being yourself and putting others at ease which results in incredible photos. You know I have believed in you from the start (albeit from the U.S.) I look at your wedding photos and whatever you do, you bring out the real people and I feel as if I know the subjects. You are doing what you were meant to do.
