Gold Award for clown photo

11th July 2014
It's always nice to get recognition or awards for something you do. Even more so if you are fortunate enough to do as a job something you love and are truly passionate about.

Having gained recognition through Licentiateship with The Royal Photographic Society and also with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers, I'm also working on a panel of work for the International Professional Photographers Network. (IPPN).
The IPPN at the moment are a smaller body, but with a tougher awards level.

Along with the permanent recognition of qualifications, there's always regular competitions.
I was awarded a Gold for the finished production of my "Death of a Clown" picture.
I'm chuffed with that.

The Clown shoot is a small part of a large project, still on my white board, but this one shoot was easier to control and set up, with my good friend Martin acting the clown for me ... terrible pun there :)

I blog and Tweet a lot that I use Lencarta lights all the time, taking an Atom 360 to weddings every week, and they are now using one of my shots on their main website.
I'm waiting at the door for the box of freebies to arrive :)

I plan to enter more comps, and am currently working on my "A" panel to gain Associateship with the SWPP.
These things take time though, especially when I'm full time into wedding season like just now.
It's nice to be busy though, and very nice to have work appreciated.
3 weddings to do by next Sunday then 2 weeks holiday to plan the projects for the last 3rd of the year.
