Emma & Geoff's wedding at Gilmerton House

23rd September 2015
Gilmerton House... it's changed a wee bit since I was last there with more thought for weddings put into the grounds and house. And this is now one amazing venue.
It was fabulous before but now it's easy to see why the likes of David Beckham, Jimmy Choo and Gordon Ramsay have all been there recently.

But more importantly... Emma & Geoffry were there to tie the knot.
It wasn't the most sunny day we've shot in, but with a house like this we weren't too bothered, and the excellent staff had even offered to clear a room in case we needed it for the family photos.
We didn't need to do that in the end though, as when it did sprinkle with rain, we all nipped back inside, and we used the time to get a few nice "inside-by-the-window" shots - me being ably assisted by daughter/assistant/light lugger Annie.

Earlier in the morning, I'd met up with Geoff and his Groomsmen at a pub in Haddington, while Annie did the shots around Gilmerton House, then we reunited to finish the bridal prep photos before the ceremony in the beautiful in house surroundings.
With a lovely Humanist ceremony - led by Caroline Lambie - we had the inclusion of a hand fastening and a whisky quaich offered by the couple's dads. That was a nice one.

Then with photos and mingling for the next two hours (which still flew past very quickly) we gathered up the guests for a big photo of everyone outside the front of the house before asking everyone to make their way to the marquee for the wedding breakfast.

I see speeches every week, and it must be said that Geoff's Groom's speech was one of the best in a while, he got through it well and came out the other side of the 2 best men's speech (shared so yeah not plural :) ) fairly unscathed.

With a few more mingling with friends shots we were into the evening way before we expected to be and everyone was on the dance floor seconds after Emma & Geoff started their first dance - a planned intervention it seems.

So another fabulous wedding at an amazing location - but more importantly - a great, fun loving and well loved couple.
It really does make this job a joy to do... which is just as well as 11 hours of running around can be exhausting at my age. It's ok for Annie and her young legs !

So here's to the new Mr & Mrs Tottenham !

Their highlights slideshow is above, and another couple of pics below while we finish off the full portfolio.
They will be in our Gallery Section soon, and you'll need a password from Emma & Geoff to view them or order copies.

Oh - and all you wife-to-be's... Emma bought Geoff a nice pressie for their wedding... a Mini car ! That;'s how you do it ladies :)
