Dunbar Past and Present

14th March 2013
A small personal project.
Been wanting to do this for a while after seeing work by Jo Teeuwisse and others with a similar look. Old photos mixed with new ones.

I've went down 2 roads here, a straight before & now look at certain Dunbar scenes, but also some shots with people from days of old, superimposed onto the modern day photo.

I grabbed a few of my background shots on Tuesday, Wednesday & a few more today when the tide was right and stuck them all together.
I think the ones with people in them are very haunting and I can imagine doing this with family members & friends from years ago, put onto a new scene, possibly with an up to date new person in them (did I explain that right? lol).

Myself and a good friend Gordy did a similar thing for him a week or so ago and although I'd been planning this project, it was Gordy's pic that made me realise how interesting this could be.

Some of my photos were hard to re-create, having to get the elevation, angle, lens length as close as possible. But you can tell that big plate cameras & medium formats may have been used as the perspective is still out a wee bit.
Still, I was happy with my afternoon's work :)

Here's some of the Trych pictures, and a video slideshow...
