Devon & Jonathan's wedding at Broxmouth House, Dunbar

05th August 2012
It's a long hard slog being a wedding photographer at times, at least once every week running around as if you're in an aerobics class for 12 hours non-stop - in between shooting photos acting as a driver, co-ordinator, house-keeper... but we do it because we love it.

How I'm still overweight after my weekend work-outs is a mystery (he ponders after having a huge plate of sandwiches and a few packets of crisps - but just for the salt content you know lol )

Yesterday was a fantastic work-out, and what a beautiful location for it... Broxmouth House in Dunbar, steeped in history. In the gardens there is a tree that was planted by Queen Victoria and the grounds were the base for Oliver Cromwell in 1650 in the last battle between Scotland & England, where Cromwell pulled off a masterclass in tactics to wrap up an easy victory against a large Scottish army.

No such battles yesterday though as families from Scotland & England got together for Devon & Jonny's wedding. The weather held out perfectly - with breaks from the hot sun with mild cloud cover. Devon looked amazing and with her two sisters as bridesmaids the wedding was a joy to be around.

The ceremony was held outside and performed by Rev Laurence Twaddle (who actually married myself & Ali in 1990) on a large steel staircase with the wedding party spaced down each side. Family & friends watching from below or the grounds opposite. Later on in the marquee a large group of friends helped celebrate a wonderful day by dancing the night away to a fantastic band.

The full portfolio is online now ... friends & family can get the password from Devon or Jonathan to view or order copies.
