2016 Master Photography Awards

27th October 2016
The 2016 UK Master Photographers Association annual awards ceremony was this month, and it was a massive buzz and honour to be awarded two merits.
One for Wedding Classical, one of my favourite shots from the year so far as it happens - of Claire at her wedding to Alastair at Broxmouth Park.
(They've just had a baby too... aawww).

And a shot from the Hibs Scottish Cup parade down Leith Walk. Again, this shot means a lot to me as I took it from outside my Grandad's old flat when he lived at 302 for many years.

So these awards get added to my Scottish MPA awards from earlier in the year. There I won 2 categories outright - Reportage Wedding and Open, as well as a Merit in the Monochrome category.

Very pleased to say the least, makes all the hard work even more worthwhile.

Thanks to my two assistants for the year too... Annie & Ali x

*Edit. It was with absolute sadness that my dad passed away in October. My real source of inspiration to work hard, be honest and kind.
Both my parents have always supported my in everything I do.
In photography they let me set up my first darkroom in the family business basement - and helped and supported me with encouragement and pride all the way up to now.
I'm glad my dad got to see us opening our new studio before he became housebound before passing.

My parents helped get me where I am today, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
